But the Patriots are looking for a rebound tonight, too, so don’t expect Bill Belichick to roll over for his former employee Matt Patricia. It’s not quite do-or-die season for the Detroit Lions, but it’s pretty much do-or-die season for the Detroit Lions. Enjoy the next few hours, Philadelphia Eagles fans, because you will be yesterday’s news by Monday morning. It’s been a long two weeks since the Los Angeles Rams and New England Patriots won their respective conferences, and every single narrative that could be drawn from this matchup has been over-explained and overhyped. It’s time to just play some dang football. So today’s Question of the Day is simply:Who do you think will win Super Bowl 53?My answer: Well, you can check out my Super Bowl On Paper preview here, where I break down each matchup of the game statistically. My conclusion was that if this game were to be played on paper, just matching talent to talent, the Rams are the better team and should win. However, I concluded the article by admitting that I still think the Patriots are going to be Super Bowl champs again. They’re a team that can seemingly adjust their strategy to just about any style of opponent, and giving Bill Belichick two weeks to prepare is like giving a bear a month to eat a single salmon. He’s going to make sure every inch of that scouting report has been licked clean.Coaching is the ultimate equalizer in football, and while I respect the hell out of Sean McVay, he’s got a long ways to prove he’s on Belichick’s level. Give me the Patriots.Your turn.
