Jacksonville Jaguars coach Doug Marrone insists he was following the strategy chart http://www.eagleslockerroom.com/authentic-ronald-darby-jersey , calling for a 2-point conversion after a fourth-down touchdown run in the final seconds of a lopsided game.Yeah, right.Marrone's message to the New York Jets 鈥?the team that snubbed him for its head coaching job in January 2015 鈥?was loud and clear Sunday."He doesn't like those guys," Jaguars defensive tackle Malik Jackson said following the 31-12 victory . "I don't know what they did to him, but he doesn't like them."Marrone said he had no hidden agenda or extra motivation, which was hard to believe considering he took a subtle shot at Philadelphia Eagles coach Doug Pederson in late August. What Marrone did to the Jets (1-3) seemed somewhat similar."I think it's really disrespectful," Jets defensive lineman Leonard Williams said. "The game's already over. They already have the game in the bag. All they could have done is run the clock out at that point. At the same time, I think it's up to us to gain that respect from other teams."If teams are disrespecting us, it must say something about us. I took it really personal. And I didn't like it at all."The Jaguars (3-1) led 25-12 with about 30 seconds remaining when Marrone called for the offense to stay on the field for a fourth-and-1 play at the goal line. Jacksonville could have taken a knee or kicked a field goal.Instead, T.J. Yeldon got the ball and scored .Up 19 points, Marrone then opted for a 2-point conversion try."We had a lot of guys banged up for the PAT/field goal, and on the chart it just said 19 Womens Chris Long Jersey , you know what I'm saying?" Marrone said. "On the chart, it says go for two. I'm one of those guys I never try to take anything for granted in an NFL game. Try to keep working those mechanics and doing it, so just went for two."Sure you weren't sending a message, coach?"We're not good enough to send a message right now," Marrone said. The Jets said all the right things afterward."That's just what they felt they wanted to do," linebacker Jordan Jenkins said. "Whether it's a statement or not, we'll never know. But we won't forget."The Jaguars outgained the Jets 503-178, the second time in quarterback Blake Bortles' five-year career they topped 500 yards. The defense finished with three sacks and nearly had three interceptions against rookie Sam Darnold. The unit also allowed a combined 26 yards rushing to New York's 1-2 punch of Bilal Powell and Isaiah Crowell. It was a dominant performance all around. It wasn't good enough for Marrone apparently."I just work here," Bortles said when asked if he was surprised to see the Jags go for two. Some believed Marrone was getting payback for safety Jamal Adams slamming receiver Dede Westbrook to the ground late in the game. Adams was flagged for unnecessary roughness."It kind of upset me because, at the end of the day, the whistle blew Wendell Smallwood Jersey ," Westbrook said. "That's not cool. I've got a family to feed just as well as you do. And anything that's done after the whistle, it's unnecessary. Of course I wasn't happy with that."But others thought it was all about Marrone's harsh feelings toward the Jets, who interviewed him to replace Rex Ryan and then decided to hire Todd Bowles. Marrone had reportedly left his head coaching job with Buffalo to join the Jets.Marrone landed in Jacksonville as the team's offensive coordinator, spent two years in that role and then got the head coaching job to replace Gus Bradley.Marrone improved to 15-8 with Jacksonville.Bowles fell to 21-31 with the Jets, who might now have something to carry with them into their next game against Jacksonville."It's football," Jenkins said. "When you're up, you can do what you want with the ball." EDTShareTweetShareShareNFL Mock Draft 2019: Mel Kiper and Todd McShay each make three picks for the Eagles Reinhold Matay-USA TODAY SportsNFL draft analysts Mel Kiper and Todd McShay recently teamed up for a new ESPN Insider mock where they each made one selection for every pick in the first two rounds of the 2019 NFL Draft. The Eagles obviously have three picks in the first two rounds so that means there’s a total of six selections here for Philadelphia. Let’s take a look.MEL KIPERWe’ll start off with Kiper’s picks first. Abram is who Kiper previously had the Eagles picking in his Version 3.0 mock draft. Again, I have a hard time envisioning Philly drafting a box safety with their first-round pick. If the Eagles are looking for an eventual Jenkins replacement, I think they’d be looking at safeties who excel in coverage, especially given those type of defenders are the prospects the Eagles have been showing pre-draft interest in. I’d also like to note Kiper has the Eagles passing on Cody Ford here to take Abram. The Eagles have been showing a lot of interest in Howard this offseason. They met with him at the Senior Bowl http://www.eagleslockerroom.com/authentic-chris-maragos-jersey , the Combine, and at their own facility for an official pre-draft visit. Philly could look to hedge their bet on Jordan Mailata by drafting another developmental tackle prospect like Howard and hoping for the best. It’s easy to imagine the Eagles drafting a linebacker at some point this year since they don’t have an established starter in the middle of the defense. Okereke might be a reach here though with various scouting reports pegging him as more of a Day 3 pick.Overall, not overly thrilled with this haul from Kiper.TODD MCSHAYI’d be surprised to see the Eagles take a first-round cornerback given that they already have six corners who seem very likely to make the roster (barring trade) in 2019: Ronald Darby, Jalen Mills, Avonte Maddox, Rasul Douglas, Sidney Jones, Cre’Von LeBlanc. Darby and Mills are coming off injuries suffered in 2018 but they’re very much in the starting picture when healthy. Where does a rookie corner fit into that picture? I’m just not seeing it. I can understand the argument for the long-term need at corner. Darby and Mills will both be free agents after this year. Jones is very much injury prone. Maddox might be more of a nickel while Douglas has been up and down. But the Eagles’ actions this offseason are one of a team that’s really making an aggressive push to win in 2019. It doesn’t seem like drafting a first-round corner lines up with that goal. With that said, the Eagles ARE reportedly hosting Baker on a pre-draft visit, so I guess it’s not impossible they take him. If he’s CLEARLY the best player by far remaining on the board at No. 25, they should take him (or trade down). There’s just no need to force a pick at corner Womens Darren Sproles Jersey , though.Sanders is an interesting prospect because there’s some thought he has untapped potential, especially as a pass catcher. He only had 32 receptions for 193 yards (low 6.0 average) and one touchdown for Penn State but he also had to deal with playing behind Saquon Barkley for two years. The Eagles should absolutely be looking for a dynamic, pass-catching back in the 2019 NFL Draft to pair with Howard. Sanders boasts quality athleticism and skills to believe he can be an early contributor in the Eagles’ running back rotaiton. There could be hope for him to eventually be the 1A in Philly’s system.Thornhill, listed as a corner here, is a safety prospect that makes sense for the Eagles. Philly hosted him on a pre-draft visit and it’s not hard to see why they’re interested in him. Thornhill logged 26 passes defensed and 13 interceptions in four years at Virginia; he’s a play-maker. Thornhill’s versatility makes him a potential replacement for Jenkins (unlike the aforementioned Abram). Overall, this haul seems preferable to what Kiper gave the Eagles. Even despite the first-round corner quandary. So, what do you think? Who has the better pick for the Eagles?
